Senior military officials from more than 110 Member States and regional organizations, including 56 chiefs of defence staff, participate in the third biennial Chiefs of Defence Conference, on 10 and 11 July at UN Headquarters, New York.
This year’s theme is “Generating Capabilities to Meet High-Performance Requirements” in UN peacekeeping. The aim of the conference is to exchange information with Member States and generate solutions to issues related to specialized capabilities and gaps, performance, training and expanding the role of women in our operations.
The CHODs conference builds on the recent Ministerial meeting in March, where Member States renewed their collective engagement with UN Peacekeeping through the Secretary-General’s Action for Peacekeeping initiative (A4P).
