Abyei Girl Tops Secondary School Examination Adhar Lanfar Ablera Bagat of Comboni Secondary School has emerged as the 2022 Abyei top candidate in the South Sudan Certificate of Secondary Schools Examinations! Adhar is the second girl to emerge winner in Abyei in the national examination for a second consecutive year.
More than 250 candidates sat for the national exams in Abyei. The results were released on Tuesday,18 July by the Ministry of Education at a ceremony attended by local authorities and a UNISFA delegation led by Ag. Head of Mission/Force Commander Major General Benjamin Sawyerr. In 2022, learning in the southern part of Abyei was disrupted due to a spike in insecurity, flooding, and a cycle of displacement that saw thousands displaced. However, Abyei emerged 10 out of 13 South Sudan areas in the secondary school exams.
