Kinshasa, February 28, 2025: The Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO), Mrs. Bintou Keita, condemns the attack using explosives against civilians in Bukavu (South Kivu), which resulted in the death of 13 people and left around one hundred others seriously injured. The tragedy occurred during a gathering organized by AFC/M23 at the Place de l'Indépendance in Bukavu.
