On 09 February 2017 in Palais des Nations, Geneva, as a part of the 20th International Meeting of Mine Action National Programme Directors and United Nations Advisors (NDM), the National Mine Action Centre Sudan, UNMAS Sudan and Italy hosted the side event titled “Intercultural Communication and Mine Action.” The event was focused on sharing the positive story of how intercultural communication can be crucial in accomplishing international goals by dealing with diversity in all fields of life with the broader Mine Action community. The panelists were The Permanent Representative of Sudan in Geneva, H.E. Mr. Mustafa Osman Ismail, the State Minister of Defense in Sudan, H.E. Mr. Ali Mohammed Salim, The Ambassador of Italy in Sudan, H. E. Mr. Fabrizio Lobasso, and UNMAS Sudan Programme Manager Habibulhaq Javed.
