Behind the Scenes of UNMAS South Sudan - Marco Grob

After decades of war South Sudan is contaminated with thousands of deadly unexploded bombs and landmines. These explosives threaten the lives and livelihoods of South Sudan’s inhabitants, and are still an impediment to development, peace and stability.  Emmy award-winning photographer Marco Grob travels to South Sudan to photograph the Mundari tribesmen as they roam vast plains in search of grazing land for their cattle.  Here is an inside look into the creation of these stunning photographs.

Marco has worked with UNMAS since 2010, and has taken portraits of mine action work in Afghanistan, Cambodia and South Sudan.
