UNMAS Rapid Response in Brazzaville, Congo

On March 4, 2012 a fire broke out at an ammunition storage warehouse in the heart of Brazzaville, in the Republic of the Congo. The ensuing explosion caused massive devastation, killing hundreds, wounding thousands and displacing over 20,000 people. The United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS) was the first organization on the ground responding to the situation.
